DWI Defense
Dallas Fort Worth DUI Defense Lawyer
After being charged with DWI in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex region, you will have a lot of choices about the attorney you hire. Many will make promises they can't keep. Many will sound interested in your DUI defense case until you pay the retainer. Many more are good lawyers who care, but just don't have the time to pay close attention to the details. And some will quote you a low retainer fee but operate on a volume business where you are just one of hundreds of clients.
I am attorney Coby Wooten. I take DUI defense cases on a select basis because I simply believe that you deserve responsive, honest, and vigorous representation from your lawyer. When we meet to discuss the charges against you, I will ask questions about you and your family situation that other lawyers might not ask. I will give you an honest appraisal of the prosecution's case against you, and tell you upfront how much you can expect this to cost. Most important, you will understand the seriousness of the charge, what it might mean to your future and liberties, and how your decisions will affect your case.
Finally, I do not hide the ball with my clients. I will tell you what you can expect from the district attorney's office, and all the possible outcomes of your case. Both good and bad.

For more than 10 years, I have been helping people who faced similar charges of driving while intoxicated. I understand that you may be scared and worried about how this will affect your family and your job. I will help calm some of those worries and will stand firmly by your side to get you the best possible outcome.
Driver's license suspensions
You must act quickly to contact the Department of Motor Vehicles after you have been arrested for driving under the influence or getting involved in a drunk driving accident. Under Texas law, you have only 15 calendar days to schedule a hearing. Certainly you can schedule the hearing yourself, but an experienced attorney is more likely to know the hearing officers and who will be more friendly to the specifics of your personal life and circumstances of your arrest.
Alternatives to jail
Most DUI convictions carry a penalty of a jail sentence. It may be a comfort to know, however, that each county offers different options where punishment is concerned. In most cases, there are alternatives to jail. I will do everything possible to fight to have your charges dismissed or reduced and to avoid a jail sentence.
