Texas Man Dies in Truck Wreck in Illinois

ROCHELLE - The investigation continues into a a fiery crash on Interstate 39 in Ogle County on Friday night that involved three semitrailers and took the life of, Ralph Maness, a driver from Texas, State Police said Saturday.

According to a news release and to State Police Sgt. Eric Van Dyke:

Around 8 p.m., a northbound semi driven by William M. Spearman, 41, of Chicago, going slower than the minimum speed limit of 45 mph, was rear-ended by a semi driven by Ralph W. Maness, 60, of Sanger, Texas, just south of Rochelle.  Three trucks crashed with one bursting into flames.

Often trucks travel at higher than allowed speeds and also at lower than posted speeds causing a huge "roadblock" that can lead to devastating accidents.

If you or a loved one has been involved in a truck or semi accident call the attorney who cares, has the experience and who can get the answers. - Coby L. Wooten, Attorney at Law, P.C.
